oleander final

let me begin by saying WOW! this is probably my best digital work yet! origionally a free sketch for of her tree spirit character: oleander

firts of all, the sketch i began with was really good, which is really rare for me! usually, my sketches are terrible. i used some new techniques i've been working on in ms paint to do the bark of the tree, and oleander's hair. they both turned out pretty fantastic. just to clarify, oleander is neither male nor female. it was a difficult task trying to nail that one down, but i think i did a good job!

as for the colors i used, i tried just about every color i could think of for oleander's outfit, and the actual oleanders behind him. after an hour of trial and eror, i finally went with white for both. the way it blended with the orange and gray colors of the tree and flowers worked out perfectly, so i couldn't be happier!

anyway, i really hope she likes it. i put a lot into this one, and i'm so happy with the result! knowing that i've made so much progress since i started here means a lot to me!
